About Us

The Rochester Renegades Women's Rugby Club was established in 1987. We are a group of 20-25 women, comprised of a mix of students and professionals. Our seasons run from late August to early November and from late March to early June; we continue to play/practice over the winter and summer months, and some members participate in playing seven's over the summer. Not only do we have games in Rochester, but we also play games in cities such as Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Detroit, and Cleveland, as well as going to tournaments held annually in Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Cape Cod, Canada, and Lake Placid to name a few.

If you are interested in the team or rugby in general, please email our Recruitment Coordinator, Lisa at freemanlisaann@yahoo.com. We are always looking for more players!

Spring practices have begun! Join us at the Adams St. Community Center from 6:00-8:30pm on Thursday nights.

"I had heard about the legendary "global family" of rugby-- that if a player ever traveled to unknown parts , all she had to do was show up at the local rugby club and say she was a player and she'd have herself a place to stay. The players don't seem to just love the game that they play, they're crazy about it. In fact, these ... competitors aren’t even getting paid to pummel each other; all of them have full-time careers separate from rugby. Among both teams there are firefighters, students, teachers, lawyers, writers, filmmakers and doctors." --Alexia Prichard, Oxygen Sports
